GENERAL SURGERY:

Procedures include but are not limited to spays, castrations, cystotomies, and laceration repairs. We intensively monitor your pet during the entire surgical procedure. We have a top of the line anesthetic monitor that measures oxygenation, heart rate and blood pressure.

VACCINATIONS:

We custom tailor the vaccine protocol to your pet's lifestyle and try to give as few vaccines as necessary to keep your pet healthy.

BLOOD PRESSURE MONITORING:

We screen all older pets for hypertension so we can proactively treat the condition before it causes organ damage.

DENTISTRY AND DIGITAL DENTAL RADIOGRAPHY:

After a through exam, we clean and polish the teeth and apply a fluoride treatment that strengthens the tooth enamel. We will work you each owner to find the right home care for everyone's situation so you can keep the teeth as healthy as possible in between cleanings. Our goal is to avoid dental extractions through proactive dental care.

DIGITAL RADIOGRAPHY:

We use a Fuji digital xray system and can send you home with copies of your pet's xrays if needed.

RHINOSCOPY:

We can look inside your pet's nose with a video endoscopy if needed. We can see things that might be stuck in the nose causing your pet to sneeze or we can take biopsies if needed.

OTOSCOPY:

We cans show you what the inside of your pet's ear looks like and help you clean the ears more effectively.

LAPROSCOPIC SURGERY:

The minimally invasive surgical technique utilizes a camera to assist in surgical procedures.

Our Staff

ANDREA GILBERT, D.V.M.

Andrea graduated from the University of Illinois in 1997. After graduating from veterinary school, Andrea completed a one year internship in emergency medicine at Tufts University in North Grafton, MA. She then worked in the field of emergency medicine for the next 7 years. Andrea then decided to work in day practice to see another side of veterinary medicine. She worked at a number of practices in suburban Boston and has brought the best of what she saw up to northeastern Vermont.

Andrea has a particular interest in dentistry, chronic ear conditions (because she has labs herself) and minimally invasive surgery. She also places an emphasis on continuing education to keep her skills current. She grew up in Concord, New Hamphire and feels very lucky to be able to live in beautiful northern Vermont. She really enjoys the seasonality of life up here and looks forward to the different activities throughout the year. She lives in Cabot with her husband, a chocolate lab and two lovely cats.

DENISE O'CONNOR, C.V.T.

Denise has lived in VT since 2000. She enjoys working with people and animals. One of her first jobs in VT was as a shelter associate at North Country Animal League. In 2006 she went back to school to earn a degree in veterinary technology from Vermont Technical College. After graduation she spent a year working at Myhre Equine Clinic a referral hospital in NH. Happy to be back in VT she spends time hiking with her dogs and horseback riding.
